FEED Champions!

Education is a purpose of APOIAR. Ensuring the academic success of children and young people in a new context, of sport, was the initial force that led us to launch this project. In parallel, the desire to enhance the capabilities of these children, who are looking for a better future, led us to developing the Young Talent Development Scholarships, which combines School Support, Sports and an Emotional Literacy program, in an Academy of Champions .
The APOIAR Campeões project began in Maputo, in 2019, as a result of a union between APOIAR and the Mozambican Rugby Federation. After a sudden global pause, it resumed in 2021 but this time in the province of Sofala. The project seeks to promote the development of vulnerable children and young people, through sports and by including them in a mentoring and school support program.

This v2 of APOIAR Campeões in Sofala, that combines study and sports practice, is now a project financed by Camões, I.P.
We want to ensure that children and young adults have greater school attendance and success. That they have plans for their lives, and will be professional and active adults in the community.
In the APOIAR Campeões project, these children meet with their mentors, have a snack, study (developing their skills), play sports and thus prepare their future.
>> 2019/2020 (Maputo) - we distributed 6,500 snacks to players between the under-8 and senior levels, we started the Young Talent Development Scholarships with the support of 23 children;
With the start of the pandemic, we were forced to suspend the project. We came back to it with a new replica in Sofala.
